Ahmedabad, : Every 2nd women in Ahmedabad suffers from Anemia and the condition is even critical in pregnant women and children below the age of 3 years. On this International Day of Action for Women’s Health on May 28, Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd – one of India’s largest privately-held pharmaceuticals company in association and support from Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA) and Ahmedabad Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society (AOGS) has organised various activities with the objective of ‘Anemia free Ahmedabad’. Activities such as free hemoglobin check-up camps, walkathon, awareness campaign on radio, distribution of pamphlets, literature are planned to inform and create awareness about combating this critical health condition.
With the efforts and initiatives geared towards ‘Anemia free Ahmedabad’ Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd. had organised various activities on May 28. More than 100 people including 40 city based gynecologists and obstetricians and company employees joined the Walkathon which started at 6:30 am from Ahmedabad Medical Association at 6.30 am. A radio campaign was also being aired to spread awareness about Anemia and information about visit time for any of the 15 free hemoglobin check-up camps organized by the company, across Ahmedabad. In addition company also distributed pamphlets, literature at Walkathon and camps for creating awareness.
